“The Campus Master Plan reinforces the positive characteristics of the site and creates a series of memorable campus places.”
The Campus Master Plan proposes phased development of the site in three zones.
The western zone accommodates both the existing and proposed hospital and long term care facilities. The eastern zone accommodates compatible revenue producing uses that integrate the site with the existing community. The middle zone is understood as a flex zone capable of accommodating further hospital or other revenue producing expansion. In the western zone, the hospital addition, a five-six storey crescent shaped building addresses the Central Lawn and resolves the serious grade differential between the main hospital entrance and the Central Lawn and parking areas. The Campus Master Plan reinforces the positive characteristics of the site and creates a series of memorable campus places. This approach is consistent with the historical use of the site, where the qualities of the landscape were as significant in defining the character of the site as were the buildings.
The Master Plan was based on a Master Program by Agnew Peckham and a Business Case produced by Prism Partners.
