“Designed to create a well integrated and unified ‘ Campus of Care’. ”
The new addition to St. Joseph’s Hospital for Mental Health Services is comprised of three 38 bed in-patients units, ambulatory out-patient services, clinics and a teaching facility.
The addition will integrate the Mental Health programs with the existing hospital to maximize efficiencies and synergies. The front façade of the mental health building aligns with the entrance wall of the existing hospital creating a well integrated and unified ‘Campus of Care’.
The building has been designed to provide the best possible access to daylight and views. Existing Healing Gardens will be rejuvenated and re-located to a semi-enclosed court that will provide a therapeutic setting for patients, as well as a welcoming entry court for people entering the Mental Health facility.
The facility is designed to achieve LEED Gold certification.
