“Expressing the rich cultural and architectural identity of the Haudenosaunee people.”
The First Nations Technical Institute is an Aboriginal owned and operated post-secondary institute located on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, Bay of Quinte. The Master Plan addressed the need for a new facility the Institute’s growing and expanding program. The Master Plan also addressed the opportunity to build a new campus as part of a larger development which supports the Eco Tourism that has now been firmly established in Prince Edward County and examines the potential synergies which could exist between the education and hospitality component. Part of the architectural challenge was in creating a tangible identity for the First Nations Technical Institute that expresses the rich cultural and architectural identity of the Haudenosaunee people.
