Ronald McDonald House Toronto’s Family Room at SickKids Hospital Opens its Doors

Last week, a new Family Room on the fourth floor of the Atrium Building opened its doors to parents with children receiving treatment in the Hospital.

The space is in keeping with Ronald McDonald House Toronto’s mission to “provide a place for families to heal better together.”  Montgomery Sisam designed a home-like environment for families to eat, rest, bathe, do laundry, share stories and relax.  The environment is calming to the soul, and contains wood panelling and a stone-clad fireplace.  One unique feature is the design of a casual napping room, inspired by the seats in executive class airplanes.

Montgomery Sisam is teaming up with Ronald McDonald House Toronto to develop similar Family Room projects for other hospitals in the Greater Toronto Area.
